I finally finished my research paper. 1700 words on the role of textiles in Incan society. It took me the better part of 3 days and many cans of Monster to do it, but it's done now. I still have a philosophy paper to write, but I have until 8:30 tonight to write it and my brain can't handle Freud right now.
I haven't had a real conversation in weeks (besides a phone call to my parents, which doesn't count since it consisted of my mom and dad each telling me the same stories about what they did last week and me saying "orly..." about a dozen times), so instead of being productive, I'm going to have a mindspew moment.
I love learning bizarre historical information, especially the creepy stuff. Looking back through the ages, you stumble upon some really horrifying things. I think the fact that they actually happened makes them all the more intriguing. Unfortunately, this means that I spend hours on wikipedia and google. It's probably a waste of time, but it's so addictive, learning all that pointless information.
It probably started in grade school, when we learned about the Roanoke colony. Croatoan: it still sends shivers down my spine.

Albert Fish
The Dyatlov Pass incident

Protect and Survive
Xipe Totec
Footage of nuclear testing
Tasmanian tigers
Thalidomide
And I love bizarre and creepy artwork too. I love Pieter Hugo's pictures of men with "pet" hyenas and baboons [link] And Zdzislaw Beksinski...his paintings make me drool.

It's five thirty now, and I have to wake up in two hours, so I guess I should at least try to sleep.

You happened to reply to one of my journals, and I was low on people for the feature meme, so I drug you in. ^^

I must hear what I scream.
I must remember what I dream.
I was about ready to gleefully murder the asst manager this morning; he told me yesterday there was a CTL (shift manager) meeting today at 8am. I woke up to go to it, and locked myself out the the apt on the way out, having to pop out the screen to get back in, since ALL of my keys are on the same keyring... and only to get to work and find out that there was no meeting. bleh

Until you find something worth dying for, you're not really living.
